The Big House – supporting creative entrepreneurs

The Big House is a free business support programme for small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurs in the creative and digital sector in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

The Big House – supporting creative entrepreneurs

The Big House is a collaboration, bringing together support from seven partners: Creative Quarter, Nottingham Trent University, New Art Exchange, NBV, Derby QUAD, Derby University and Derby Theatre. The project is partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund.

The project offers a range of support tailored to creative and digital businesses in the early to medium stages – or even those talented individuals who have a germ of an idea and want to turn it into reality.

Support includes individual mentoring, business plan development and grants for specific opportunities to ease early stage growth pains. Joining The Big House allows creative businesses to come together, collaborate, share ideas and create a hotbed of innovation.

In 2017/18, The Big House offered 4,923 hours of dedicated support to 328 different organisations across their region, at an estimated value of £205,000. This included more than £110,000 of direct grants plus business support in kind.
